Ja Morant improved injury report ahead of Bucks clash

The Memphis Grizzlies (14-16) have played wonderfully and competently without I Morantbut as long as the star point guard remains a part of the franchise’s plans, the team will need him to stay on the court. Continuity is essential, and this group has been forced to change lineups too often over the past few years. Maybe the Griz can start to get some consistent form starting Friday. Morant is questionable play against the Milwaukee Bucks (12-18), according to NBA correspondent Mark Stein.

The 2021-22 All-NBA Second Team selection and Most Improved Player of the Year missed the last four games with a sprained ankle, but is now upgraded on the injury report ahead of this FedExForum clash with Milwaukee. Morant was on the shelf for a month before returning from a calf strain on Dec. 12. The consensus has long been that the two-time All-Star’s aggressive, occasionally acrobatic playing style makes him vulnerable to lower-body ailments. He hopes to reverse the trend moving forward.

A healthy and locked-in Morant is clearly what the Grizzlies want. They know how high their ceiling can reach if the 26-year-old is at his absolute best. Memphis didn’t see much of that version during 2025.
