Charles Barkley fires back at NFL ‘pigs’ for trying to steal Christmas

Over the years, games on Christmas Day have become one of the NBA’s most cherished traditions, as they have evolved into a national stage for the league’s brightest stars and biggest rivalries.
It is among many ways for the NBA to give back to the fanswho spend money on tickets or tune into TV (or any streaming platform these days) to watch their favorite players in the tree at Christmas.
But this year, The NBA had strong competition: NFL.
Historically, the NFL has not scheduled games on Christmas Day, opting instead to hold the holiday business on Thanksgiving Day. This year, however, was different, because a triple match was organized.
Big move by the NFL he didn’t sit well with an NBA legend Charles Barclay.
“The NFL got greedy and started adding Christmas games. We used to have this day to ourselves, but Roger Goodell and the pigs in the NFL always want to pig out every day of the week. Christmas is NBA Day,” Barkley said on “Inside the NBA” on Wednesday, as reported by Front Office Sports.

It was a strong remark from Barkley that would have made Scrooge McDuck proud. But that’s par for the course for an outspoken Hall of Famer. Now it will be interesting to see if Goodell or the NFL players clap back.
Some NBA players like Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green have admitted that playing on Christmas Day is tough, but they still show up because they have to do their jobs and want to make the fans happy.
They say the Christmas season is a time to spread love. Just don’t tell Barkley that.
