Quentin Grimes does his best impression of Dr. J vs. Bulls

The Philadelphia 76ers entered Friday’s game against the Chicago Bulls looking to get back into the winning column after losing to the Brooklyn Nets. Quentin Grimes was doing his best to try to beat the 76ers, invoking franchise legend Julius ‘Dr. J’ Irving with an impressive up and down to go against the Bulls.
The impression of Dr. Quentin Grimes’ J came late in the first quarter when he caught a VJ Edgecombe corner pass, drove down the baseline and eluded Jaylen Smith to come up and block the shot with an up-and-down motion. His kick pulled the 76ers within two, 30-28.
As of publication, the 76ers had a slim lead against the Bulls early in the fourth quarter. Grimes had two points and two assists in just over 19 minutes per game. He shot just 1-of-4 from the field, and his one shot was up and down.
Grimes has been one of the 76ers’ most consistent players going back to last season’s trade with the Dallas Mavericks. in the offseason, Grimes decided to sign a one-year qualifying offer from the 76ers and hit unrestricted free agency at the end of this season.
Going into Friday’s game against the Bulls, Grimes appeared in 26 games, including seven starts, with just over 15.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.0 steals on 43.1 percent shooting from the field, 36 percent from the 3-point line and 86 percent shooting from the line.
The No. 25 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Grimes is now in his fifth NBA season.
