Terrence Shannon Jr. dealing with a foot injury, will be re-evaluated in two weeks

The Minnesota Timberwolves received a significant injury update On Saturday, it’s running back Terence Shannon Jr., who is expected to be sidelined after leaving Thursday’s game with soreness in his left foot.
In a press release published before Minnesota vs. Brooklyn Nets matchThe Timberwolves announced that Shannon Jr. is undergoing further evaluation following his early exit against the Denver Nuggets on Christmas Day.
“The Minnesota Timberwolves released the following injury information today regarding guard Terence Shannon Jr., who left Thursday’s game against the Denver Nuggets due to left foot soreness:
An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) taken at the Mayo Clinic by Dr. Jeff Payne on Shannon Jr. revealed a deformity of the abductor hallucis of the left foot. Shannon Jr. will be re-evaluated in two weeks and further updates on his progress will be provided as they become available.

The Timberwolves enter Saturday night’s contest at 20-11, while Brooklyn is 9-19. Tipoff is set for 8:00 PM ET.
Shannon Jr., 25, was last seen in Minnesota lost to Denver 142-138a game in which he logged 10 minutes but did not record a point, rebound or assist. He missed all three of his field goal attempts before being ejected the rest of the contest.
Now in his second NBA season, Shannon Jr. has taken over a rotating role off the bench. Through 22 games this season, he is averaging 4.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game while shooting 39.5% from the field and 40.5% from three-point range. He averaged 12.8 minutes per contest, providing scoring depth for Minnesota’s second unit.
Minnesota did not provide a firm timetable after the two-week reevaluation period, and the team indicated that additional updates will be shared as they become available.
