Billy Donovan reveals Josh Giddy’s next step in his career

From the second half of last season until today, c Chicago Bulls have seen growth in Josh Giddei. As a result, Giddei was gifted with a four-year, $100 million contract during the summer.

However, the head coach Billy Donovan sees much more potential in Giddei, especially on the defensive end. Overall, Donovan says Giddy could become a complete player if he can lock down defenses and use his versatility.

“He can put his fingerprints all over the game,” Donovan said. “I didn’t even mention the defensive part, because of the size of it, I think.” he has the potential to hold multiple positions. At 22, that’s the growth he needs. I think if you look at individual growth in terms of just his raw numbers, he’s gotten better every year.”

Despite that suffered a slight sprain of the right ankleGiddei it is foreseen play on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Josh Giddy’s years of defensive struggles

As for Giddei, he was not known for his defensive prowess. Inconsistency, poor communication and the inability to change screens have diminished his overall status as a player.

Giddy currently has a defensive rating of 116.3, which is is ranked around the 50th percentile. In addition, Giddy’s defensive lapses mirrored the mistakes of the Bulls, who were not a strong defensive team at all.

Actually, Gidi was open about his defense issues. Given his size and stature at 6-foot-8, he has the potential to go up against anyone. He needs the confidence and the means to get there.
