Spencer Brown is dealing with an eye injury after the Eagles game

The Buffalo Bills‘ narrow defeat of 13-12 The Philadelphia Eagles were defined by late-game drama on Sundaycontroversial moments and growing frustration. One of the most concerning developments occurred late in the game when Spencer Brown was forced off the field briefly after suffering an eye injury during a physical exchange in the trenches.

The incident occurred midway through the second half when Brown appeared to make contact with his face while making contact with Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter. No penalty was called on the play, but Brown was visibly shaken and required medical attention on the sideline before eventually returning.

After the game, Brown was asked in the dressing room what happened when he had to go out. “I took a right hard right hook to the eyeball,” Brown said, via VGRZ’s Jonathan Acosta.

When pressed if he believes the contact was accidentalBrown didn’t hesitate to share his perspective. “I don’t think so, but it was coming. I guess,” Brown said.

Brown later provided further details on why the injury was concerning enough to warrant further evaluation, explaining that his vision was compromised even after he returned to action.

“Make sure my vision is still good. Get checked after this because it’s still blurry,” he added. “Just go back there and try to do your job the best you can… It just got foggy so I have to go see the documents after this. But there’s nothing broken, but it still looks like there’s fog all over the room. So I’m just checking.”

Replays circulating online appeared to show Carter making contact near Brown’s eye and neck area, with some video footage also suggesting a throat-grabbing motion. Fans were quick to accuse the Eagles defensive lineman of foul play, though officials did not call the shots and the league has yet to announce any disciplinary action.

Despite Brown’s injury, Buffalo scored shortly after, cutting the deficit to 13-6. The Bills later scored again on a Josh Allen snuck in but missed the two-point conversionclosing loss.

Brown’s eye injury will be closely monitored as the Bills advance to play their final game of the season against the New York Jets. While he downplayed the severity, the lingering vision issues could draw the league’s attention and medical caution, especially since Buffalo is still fighting for postseason positioning and they can’t afford further stops along the offensive line.
