Zach Collins is out again, this time with a toe injury



It’s been an injury-riddled season for the backup big man Chicago Bulls, Zach Collins. Earlier in the season, he he came out with a wrist injury that required surgery.

on monday, the NBA injury Report confirmed that Collins will be out of the Bulls’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to soreness in his right toe. Additionally, Josh Giddei is listed which is probably after the recent sprains of the right ankle. The Bulls enter against the Wolves with a 15-16 record. They lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 112-103 last Saturday.

Collins played 24 minutes in that game and had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Collins played a total of 10 games and averaged 9.7 points and 5.6 rebounds.

He was last February traded to Bulls as part of blockbuster deal who sent Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings. Prior to that, Collins played four seasons with the San Antonio Spurs from 2021-2025. During the 2022-2023 season, he averaged a career-high 11.6 points per game as well as 6.4 rebounds per game.

In 2021, Collins suffered an ankle injury that required surgery while playing with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Zach Collins was productive for the Bulls.

This month alone, Collins has put up some solid numbers. He has scored in double figures in his last six games, averaging 12.3 points per game.

His best came against the Charlotte Hornets on December 12th. In that game, Collins had 16 points and eight rebounds as the Bulls won 129-126. Also during that game, head coach Billy Donovan decided to bench starting center Nikola Vucevic due to his poor performance.

Vucevic remains the starting center of the Bulls, but is rumours be on the threshold of trade.
