Adou Thiero will miss several weeks after suffering an MCL sprain

Los Angeles The Lakers have dealt with injuries here and there this season, and it has led to players missing extended periods of time. Latest up to get hurt is their rookie coming off an MCL sprain, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoint.

“Lakers rookie Adu Thierry has been diagnosed with a sprained right MCL and will be re-evaluated in four weeks,” Siegel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

That means Thiero will most likely miss all of January and beyond. There were several players this season who suffered MCL sprains and missed about six weeks of the season, such as Trae Young and Derrick Jones Jr.

Here’s hoping Tiero has a quick and easy recovery so he can fill in wherever he needs to when he returns. He didn’t play much with the Lakers, so he spent most of his time with the G League team. At the same time, with the injuries the team has dealt with, it would be a surprise to see him called up.

Austin Reeves is currently sidelined with a left calf injury, and the Lakers are cautious with an injury like this, knowing it could lead to something more serious. Reaves has played some of his best basketball this season, and the Lakers have fed off him with wins that have shown him. Now they have struggled the last few weeks and don’t look like the competitive team they did at the start of the season.

Luka Doncic and LeBron James are now the two that need to step up and make things happen for the Lakers, but some have even questioned what their partnership looks like together on the floor.

The Lakers have to figure something out soon, because they don’t want to fall behind in the competitive Western Conference.
