Victor Wembanyama is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury



The San Antonio Spurs star center Victor Vembanyama is reportedly engaged with a knee injury. He is currently considered day-to-day as the team evaluates the situation.

Vembanjam, who is 21 years old, hyperextended the knee in the Spurs’ 134-132 win over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, according to NBA insider Brett Siegel. As a result, Vembanyama has already been ruled out of Friday’s contest against the Indiana Pacers.

“Victor Wembanyama will not play tomorrow against the Pacers after hyperextending his left knee last night. Spurs are optimistic that he will not miss a few games and will take it day by day.”

Although he won’t play against the Pacers, Wright says the former 2023-24 Rookie of the Year will likely be questioned for the Spurs’ game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

“Victor Wembanyama’s MRI today came back clean with no ligament damage. He did not travel to Indianapolis so he could receive more care here in San Antonio. He will likely be questionable Saturday against Portland, according to a source.”

Vembanjama has played in 31 of Spurs’ available 33 games so far this season. He remained as consistent as ever as the former All-Star averaged 24.3 points, 11.7 rebounds (career highs) and 2.9 blocks per game. Victor Vembanyama is too shooting 52.5% from the floor and 36.5% from behind the arc, both career highs for the third-year center.
