Fans react to Lake Kiffin’s entrance with Kim Mulcahy

New LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin continues to live in Baton Rouge.
The same night as his former team, the Ole Miss Rebels having played a big game in the quarter-final round in the College Football Playoff in New Orleans, Louisiana against the Georgia Bulldogs, Kiffin was in another part of the state to catch another college game.
Kiffin spent Thursday night at the Pete Maravich Community Center in Baton Rouge to watch the women’s basketball game between the No. 5 LSU Tigers and the No. 11 Kentucky Wildcats. He even got into the game LSU Women’s Basketball head coach Kim Mulkeyas they held hands in what appeared to be a symbolic display of LSU’s coaching power.
Kiffin was met with loud cheers, and appeared to acknowledge the fans as he and Mulcahy exited the tunnel.

Mulcahy later said that Kiffin found time to watch her team’s game personally despite opening the transfer portal.
“He was very gracious to come out here and let the LSU fans recognize him,” Mulkey told The Associated Press.
“The (transfer) portal opens tomorrow, so I know it’s working. I appreciated him coming.”
Unfortunately for Mulcahy and the Tigers, Kiffin’s presence didn’t lead to a win, as they ended up suffering an 80-78 loss to Kentucky after Wildcats senior guard Tony Morgan drained a game-winning 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Kiffin takes over the LSU football program as head coach after leaving Ole Miss following the 2025 regular season.
