Jarrett Allen’s block perfectly sets up Donovan Mitchell’s jam against the Nuggets


Jarrett Allen enjoyed a great climax together Donovan Mitchell during Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Denver Nuggets match on Friday night.

Allen is in his ninth NBA season, sixth with the Cavaliers. He established himself as one of the best rebounders and blockers in the league, standing out among others at the center position.

Allen put his defensive skills to good use once again during Cleveland’s game against Denver. The highlight happened in the first two minutes of the second quarter when Allen made a big rejection on Peyton Watson as the Cavaliers went on a fast break. The play ended with Mitchell throwing down a ferocious one-handed dunk.

It was a great start for Jarrett Allen and a great finish for Donovan Mitchell. They enjoyed playing a solid role in helping the Cavaliers knock off the Nuggets 113-108 at home.

Although Denver was missing Nikola Jokic and Jonas Valanciunas due to injury, the team remained persistent as they led 97-88 in the fourth quarter. Even so, Cleveland refused to back down as they mounted a rally in the final 12 minutes, outscoring the Nuggets 25-11 to win.

Four players scored in double figures for Cleveland in the win. Donovan Mitchell led the way with 33 points, six rebounds, five assists and a steal. He shot 14 of 24 from the field, including 5 of 12 from beyond the arc. Darius Garland followed with 18 points and eight assists, De’Andre Hunter had 16 points and five rebounds, while Craig Porter Jr. had 10 points and five rebounds.

Cleveland improved to 20-16 on the season, holding seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are in a three-way tie with the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers for fifth place while trailing the Toronto Raptors by 0.5 games.

The Cavaliers will look forward to their next game, staying at home. They host the Detroit Pistons on January 4th at 2pm ET.
