It is unlikely that Denver will change the lineup due to Nikola Jokic, due to other injuries
The Denver Nuggets are a team that tries to adapt the injury of their biggest star, Nikola Jokić. Jokic has been absent for a long time due to a knee injury. He’s not the only Denver player dealing with an injury, and the Nuggets are trying to adjust their roster accordingly.
Denver coach David Adelman says the team he is not expected to sign the player on a short-term contract, due to the situation.
“Adelman was asked about the possibility of a 10-day deal before the game in Cleveland tonight (Friday) and said it would be a discussion about the Nuggets, but ‘we are what we are. FVIV, I’m told Denver probably won’t sign anyone for 10 days,'” Denver Post reporter Bennett Durando of Ks, formerly of Twitter, reported.
Another Nuggets big man, center Jonas Valanciunas, is dealing with a calf strain and is also out. Aaron Gordon, Cam Johnson and Christian Brown are also injured.
This season, the Nuggets hold an overall record of 23-11.
The Nuggets hope he can be healthy soon
Denver hopes Gordon and Brown can return to the floor soon, possibly within the next week. Both players are still dealing with pain from injuries. Brown has been dealing with an ankle injury, while Gordon has a hamstring problem.
Jokic also reportedly has a positive trendwith his knee. That’s music to the ears of Nuggets fans. Jokić has been great this season, easily registering a triple-double. In fact, the Nuggets big man is literally averaging a triple-double. Jokic averages 29 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists per game. He’s shooting better than 60 percent from the floor.
Other NBA players, including Kevin Durant, were sad to see Jokic down with an injury.
“One thing I don’t want to see with Nikola is they start calling me ‘injury prone’ after that, but I hope they don’t start with him because it’s one of those weird injuries that you can’t control,” Durant told The Associated Press. “You can do everything you can, but someone falls on your knee, it’s just hard.”
Denver is on the road to play the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday afternoon.
