Seahawks dominate 49ers on ground in Week 18 win

The Seahawks enjoyed a significant offensive advantage in Week 18. Seattle gained 361 total yards, compared to San Francisco’s 173. However, the 49ers stayed in the game, limiting Seattle’s scoring. Charbonnet had the only touchdown of the game on a 27-yard rush in the first quarter.
Traffic was a major concern for the Seahawks this season. They are one of only a handful of playoff teams with a negative turnover margin. But Darnold had a clean game on Saturday and Seattle didn’t give up the ball against the 49ers.
While the Seahawks played well on offense, the team’s defense dominated the must-win matchup. Brock Purdy entered Week 18 with 13 touchdowns in his last three games. But Seattle kept him out of the end zone for the first time in his nine starts this season.
The Seahawks sacked Purdy three times and recorded eight quarterback sacks. The team’s atrocious front forced one of its worst performances of the year. Purdy is covered in blood and took a heavy hit when the 49ers came up short in the fourth quarter.
