Benedict Maturin’s injury update kills trade rumors

With Indiana Pacers due to a poor start to the 2025-26 season, one of the names that has surfaced in potential trade rumors is Benedict Maturin. But with Mathurin deals with multiple injury issues lately, that could prevent any attempts by opposing teams to pry him away in a trade, according to ClutchPoints’ NBA insider Brett Siegel.

Benedikt Maturin currently has there is no timetable for his return from injury, and Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said only that the fourth-year wing “will be out for a while.”

Amid the absence of All-Star Tyrese Halliburton as he recovers from an Achilles injury and other injuries to key players to start the year, the Pacers fell to a 6-30 record. They currently hold the worst record in the NBA and have the longest active losing streak in the league at 12 games.

Maturin has a toe and thumb injury and has already missed 11 games this season. He appeared in a total of 24 games, with slightly more than 32 minutes per game. He averaged a career-high 17.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 42.3 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from the 3-point line and 87.6 percent from the free throw line.
