We’re all rooting for Daniss!
Facing the CavaliersThe Pistons missed the start of the game, especially from 3-point range. After twelve minutes of play, JB Bickerstaff’s men were only 20% successful from behind the arc and increased the number of aerial balls.
To start the second act, Detroit’s coach takes the field Daniss Jenkins and he is the one who brings his team to life. The Pistons leader had a perfect second quarter with 21 points on 7/7 shooting and 6/6 3-pointers, culminating in this shot at the buzzer just before heading to the locker room.
“My teammates were able to find me and I was open.” Daniss Jenkins will simply explain after the meeting. “The key in this game is if you have an open shot, you have to make it. The Cavaliers were bunched up in the paint so I was able to shoot in my spots with confidence.”
When the sophomore entered the game early in the second quarter, the Pistons trailed 28-19, and at halftime, Detroit held a ten-point lead behind Dennis Jenkins, who posted a +/- of +19 during the period.

Decisive throws
“He was amazing,” congratulates his coach JB Bickerstaff. “His 6/6 3-pointers in the second quarter is a confidence factor that we talk about all the time. We have 18 guys on our team and we trust all of them. These 18 guys know they can help us win. They know how to play our basketball. They are unselfish, enthusiastic and confident in their mission.”
In the second period, Dennis Jenkins was less skilled, such as this missed shot from the middle in the last minute, but which allowed Ausar Thompson to score the decisive tap.
However, he was sent to the free throw line twice late in the game and went 4/4 in practice, which ultimately sealed the victory for Detroit (114-110). In 25 minutes on the court, the leader finished with 25 points on 7/10 shooting, including a stellar 6/7 from distance, setting a new career high from behind the arc.
