The Atlanta Hawks have lost their last two games, but have their next game against the New Orleans Pelicans, a team that hasn’t played well this season. The Hawks should be pretty healthy to play, but they still are waiting for Trae Young to return to the floorwhile continuing to deal with a right quad contusion. Young has missed the last five games with an injury, and there was uncertainty as to when he would return.
Over the past five games, Young has been listed as questionable on the injury report, then has been ruled out, and has been ruled outright a second time. The good news is that he was seen doing some exercises during the pre-game, which could lead some to believe that he is making progress or is close to returning.

Trae Young’s trae staus vs. Pelicans
He is young listed as suspicious against the Pelicans, which means there’s a chance he could fit in, but it’s not a sure thing. As for Young, lately there has been more uncertainty surrounding him outside of his playing status. In a recent report, Young and the Hawks said they were looking for a new home for the point guard, as both seemed ready to part ways.
Going into the season, there were already some questions about Young’s future with the team after not being offered a contract extension. At the same time, Young has made it clear that he is committed to the team for this season, regardless of the disparity in his contract.
Fast forward to now, and Young has only played a handful of games with the Hawks, and they are 2-8 with him. When he hasn’t played this season, the Hawks are 15-13, and it’s clear they’re preparing for a future without Young controlling their offense.
With the trade deadline still a month away, it will be interesting to see if Young is moved, and if so, where he goes.
