Nick Sirianni declares that Philly found their identity before the 49ers tilt

When it comes to Philadelphia Eagles in 2025, the biggest question about the reigning Super Bowl champions was their own offensive identity or lack thereof.
After greeting Kellen Moore and replacing him with Kevin Patul during the spring, the Eagles’ offense was a shell of its former glory, going silent for entire drives, quarters, or even games in a very busy regular season as fans openly questioned the team’s ceiling.
Discussing the concept with reporters on Wednesday, the head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters that he believes the best teams have a strong identity and lean on it when the going gets tough.
“You have to have an identity of what you want to do. I think that starts with having an identity, but there’s also a fine line like, ‘Hey, I want to run this because this is part of our identity.’ Well, you might have to do some different things to get out of some (situations) — ‘Hey, okay, maybe we don’t run it against this, or maybe we don’t run it against that because you’re setting yourself up for potentially a bad play,'” Siriani explained, via John Clark.
“But I think it always starts with identity. I think the best teams are always going to have an identity that they rest on and that’s what we’ve been trying to continue to do this year. We know a lot of things that we’re good at and we want to continue to try to push, but they’re watching the tape as well, and they’re going to respond to that, and it’s possible. And there are some things that are part of your identity that you call your conditions, and you have both of those things as you comb through.”
Asked specifically if the Eagles had found their identity, Sirianni said yes, noting that after halftime against the Bills, Philadelphia played well on offense down the stretch.
“Yeah, I do. I think we’re continuing to work through it, and I think it’s shown in some of these last games, and obviously Buffalo had a bad half where we didn’t do a good enough job as a coach,” Siriani said. “We didn’t do a good enough job playing. But yeah, I think we did.”
Do the Eagles really have it all figured out? Will they be able to attack Roberto Saleh’s defense for the full 60 minutes as the fans go wild at The Linc? Or will things wind down with the season on the line, even if they do pull out a win in the end? Fans will soon find out.
