Immanuel Quickley condemns the Hornets with an away winner



The Toronto Raptors ran away a wild against the Charlotte Hornets97-96, at the Spectrum Center on Tuesday, s Immanuel Quickley delivering the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired.

The Hornets took a 96-94 lead with 1.6 seconds left on a LaMelo Ball drive that sent the home crowd into a frenzy. The Raptors, however, remained composed as Quickley drained to go bin from the entry game.

Quickley finished with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists. RJ Barrett led the way with 28 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, along with seven rebounds.

The Raptors improved to 23-15, outscoring Brandon Ingram’s early exit with a thumb injury. He lasted in the second quarter and did not return. He had six points, two assists and three blocks in 11 minutes.

The Hornets, meanwhile, fell to 13-24, unable to sustain the momentum from a huge loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the previous assignment.

It was an uphill battle throughout. The Raptors had to rally from a 10-point deficit in the final quarter, with Quickley, Barrett and Sandro Mamukelasvili leading the way. They took the lead with 6:12 left after a 3-pointer by Barrett assisted by Quickley.

The Hornets refused to back down, however, with Ball and Colin Sexton stepping up in the clutch.

but alas Toronto was still laughingwinning their third straight game.

Few gave the Raptors a chance before the season, but they surprised observers with their impressive play that depends on out-of-position basketball.

They will return to action on Friday against the Boston Celtics.
