LeBron James remains on injury report ahead of Bucks matchup

The Los Angeles Lakers they returned home from their mini-two-game road trip with a 1-1 record. Lakers star LeBron James did not play during the team’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs, which was the second night of back-to-back games. The Lakers will take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, and LeBron James appeared on the team’s pregame injury report.
LeBron James is officially listed as suspicious on the Lakers’ injury report for their game against the Bucks. In addition to James, Rui Hachimura was also promoted to questionable. Hachimura has been sidelined for the last five games with a calf injury. Both Austin Reaves and Adou Thiero remain sidelined.
In James’ case, a final status update likely won’t be released before Friday’s game. He missed the first 14 games of the season with a nerve injury. Wednesday’s game in San Antonio was James’ James missed his 17th game of the season, tying his All-NBA streak at risk. He was named to the All-NBA team in 21 consecutive seasons. Because of the NBA’s new mandate of playing 65 games to qualify for postseason awards, that streak is in jeopardy.
James has appeared in 18 games this season, averaging just over 33 minutes per game. He averaged 21.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.0 steals on 51.2 percent shooting from the field, 32.2 percent from the 3-point line and 71.2 percent from the free throw line.
Hachimura’s upgrade on the injury report is another welcome sign for the Lakers. He was recently assigned to South Bay in the G League as part of his bulking up process to return to the field. Hachimura has been among the Lakers’ most consistent offensive players, averaging 12.7 points while shooting 52.1 percent from the field.
