Dante Moore gets sacked as turnover woes continue against Indiana

The College Football Playoff semifinal at Mercedes-Benz Stadium was billed as a heavyweight battle, but for the Oregon quarterback Dante Mooreturns into a the night will want to forget. The Ducks’ signal-caller has been plagued by turnover issues, and those issues reared their ugly head again in the second quarter against Indiana.

With Oregon trailing and in desperate need of a spark to keep pace with the undefeated Hoosiers, disaster struck. Moore returned to the pocket, but lost his grip on the football, a play that looked like a tape sack amid the chaos of a collapsed pocket and collision in the backfield. The ball hit the turf, and Indiana linebacker Mario Landino was there to catch it at the Oregon 21-yard line.

It was a disastrous mistake for the Ducks. Just six plays later, Indiana receiver Elijah Sarat caught a two-yard pass, extending the Hoosiers’ lead to 35-7.
