“From the outhouse to the penthouse, baby! It’s the IU Hoosiers!” Cuban exclaimed after the game from the sidelines, via Nicole Auerbach of NBC Sports, capturing the disbelief and pride surrounding Indiana’s unprecedented run.
Cuban’s presence in Atlanta underscored how this is a significant moment for the Indiana community. A 1981 graduate of Indiana’s Kelley School of Business, Cuban has long been one of the university’s most visible advocates. His Peach Bowl appearance didn’t come as a publicity stuntbut as a true show of support for his alma mater as it pushed into unknown territory.

Indiana fans flooded Atlanta for the semifinals, turning the neutral field game into a de facto home environment. The Cuban program donor was seen on the field both before and after the game, soaking in a moment many Hoosiers didn’t think they would witness. Indiana football playing and winning convincingly on the sport’s biggest stage.
Cuban recently also confirmed made another donation to the Indiana athletic department during the Hoosiers’ CFP run, further highlighting his continued investment in the development of the program. “Let’s just say they’re happier this year than last year,” Cuban said, via On3.
The win over Oregon was another emphatic statement in what became a a stunning turnaround under head coach Cignetti. After inheriting the 3-9 program in 2023. Cignetti led Indiana to its first undefeated regular seasonit’s the first time Big Ten title since 1945and now for the first time ever in a national championship game.
Indiana’s resume continues to grow stronger with each win. The Hoosiers now have multiple wins over top 10 opponents, including back-to-back wins over Dan Lanning’s Oregon, along with triumphs against last season’s Big Ten and national champions Ohio State Buckeyes. Each step has forced the college football world to rethink what Indiana football can be.
Now, the Hoosiers head to Miami to face the Hurricanes in the CFP National Championship Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium. With alumni like Cuban fully committed and momentum firmly on their side, Indiana is one win away from completing one of the most incredible championships college football has ever seen.
