Bad night for the Magic
Victory on the buzzer in Brooklyn somewhat forgot about the performance Magicwhich was not of high quality. In 53 minutes, Jamal Mosley’s men scored just 104 points, with a lot of wasted play between fumbles and turnovers.
It is confirmed in a loss to the Sixerswith his worst offensive performance of the season. The numbers are terrible: 91 points were scored, with 19 turnovers and a terrible 4/29 on 3-pointers (14% success)…
“I’d like to see the ball go in the basket”, one would hope the Magic coach regarding his team’s fourth quarter performance. “We have to do better not to lose the ball and finish possessions so we don’t get to that point.”
And defensively, even if Philadelphia also struggled from 3-pointers, Orlando lacked authority from under the circle, giving up 21 offensive rebounds to Joel Embiid and company.
“Those 21 jumps were huge”confirms Jamahl Mosley about these additional possessions offered to the Seekers. “We got stops and we have to get rebounds to close out possessions and be able to run and score easy baskets. The Sixers defended well and we were in trouble in the half court. Then there were the turnovers. It’s a lot of ingredients and that’s why it’s hard to win.”
Simply put: nothing went right for the Magic, so the loss made a lot of sense. It underscores the current struggles of the franchise, which has yet to achieve a second straight three-game winning streak between Nov. 25 and Dec. 1, 2025. Since then, a loss has always followed a win…
“We have to be better. We have to be better organized at the end of the match. Sometimes I have the feeling that we play to not lose and that way we won’t win.”concludes Anthony Black.
