J Huff nails the Statue of Liberty in the heat

Jay Huff had a stunning dunk at Indiana Pacers match against Miami Heat on Saturday night.

Huff is in his fifth NBA season, his first with the Pacers. He was a journeyman to begin his career with Indiana, his fifth team, but found himself in a starting role due to injuries on the roster.

The young center took full advantage of the opportunity, which he showed with his clutch game in Indiana’s game against Miami. A performance it took place at the beginning of the fourth quarter as Huff had the ball at the 3-point line and then drove into the paint. He then jumped into the air to end the game with a powerful one-handed jam.

Jay Huff enjoyed a decent night with eight points and three steals, helping the Pacers blow away the Heat in a 123-99 home win.

Indiana took control of the game from the start and led 36-18 after the first quarter. They built the lead further in the third quarter and never looked back, dominating Miami on both sides of the ball.

Perimeter shooting and ball movement made the difference in this matchup. The Pacers won in both categories, making 17 triples and 37 assists. It was the complete opposite for the Heat as they made just four 3-pointers and dished out 17 assists.

Seven players scored in double figures for Indiana in the win. Andrew Nembhard led the team with 29 points, nine assists, six rebounds and two steals. He shot 10-of-16 from the field, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Micah Potter followed with 14 points and four rebounds, Jerras Walker had 13 points and nine rebounds, Aaron Nesmith and TJ McConnell each had 12 points, while Pascal Siakam scored 11 points and seven rebounds.

Indiana improved to an 8-31 record on the season, but remained at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. They are three games ahead of the Washington Wizards and five games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets.

The Pacers will look forward to their next match, staying at home. They host the Boston Celtics on January 12th at 7:30pm ET.
