Insider makes Ja Morant bags for Raptors, Heat, Bucks

The Memphis Grizzlies have made it known that they are listening to offers for Ja Morantsince the previous few seasons probably didn’t go the way they wanted with the star player. There’s a list of teams that could use a point guard, and there’s no question that he could be a plus for those rosters. There are three teams who might look at Morant, and NBA insider Jake Fisher looks at their level of interest.

It’s the first team Toronto Raptorswho actually had their eye on Tree Young before he was traded to the Washington Wizards. The Raptors reportedly offered the Hawks a deal centered around Immanuel Quickley and picks, but the Hawks didn’t want to make a deal based on Quickley’s contract. As they look for an upgrade at guard, Morant could be in their sights, but there is something that may prevent them from doing so.

“One potential obstacle pointed out by our Sportsnet colleague Michael Grange: Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic spent three years on Taylor Jenkins’ staff in Memphis. Will that encourage or deter the Raptors from making an offer?” wrote Fischer.

The next team is Miami Heatwho debated whether a move to Morant could help revive his career. On the negative side, Morant doesn’t fit the offense the Heat run, which is less about the pick-and-roll and more about movement and ball movement. At the same time, the Heat are trying to stay in the mix for top stars.

“Miami is certainly known for going after the most famous names — regardless of their backgrounds and previous troubles — in the Pat Riley era,” Fisher wrote.

It’s the third team Milwaukee Buckswho are still looking to add talent to their team to help Giannis Antetokounmpo, who recently said he has no plans to leave the franchise. The Bucks have said they’re “looking at everything” when it comes to improving their roster, and Morant now has to be on that list.
