Kyle Lowry maybe he enjoys rap his career as a star of the Philadelphia 76ers. However, his best seasons came with the Toronto Raptors, with constant rumors swirling about the Raptors. the impending announcement of the retirement of the now 39-year-old’s number 7 jersey.

Speaking ahead of Philadelphia’s matchup with the Raptors, Lowry detailed how he might cry when it finally happens.

“I don’t know if it’s going to grow,” he explained early on, before bursting into laughter and practically acknowledging the fact that his jersey will be retired, per clip Posted on X by ClutchPoints.

“I don’t know. Are you going to see me cry? I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into that 7. And to know for a fact that it’s never going to be worn again is really special. My basketball legacy is pretty cool,” he said.

Lowry has made it unmistakably clear that his NBA story will end where it is most deeply defined: in Toronto. Lowry, who first arrived in the NBA in 2006 as the 24th overall pick in the draft, has had a career to be most proud of.

Despite spending the past five seasons away from the Raptors organization, Lowry continues to identify Toronto as “home,” a sentiment he backs up with both words and gestures.
