Luka Doncic admits injury concerns ahead of Hawks game

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings on Monday night by a final score of 124-112. Luka Dončić led LA with 42 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals in the loss. After the game, the Lakers star acknowledged the injury, via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

“I was really unsure about the game. While warming up, I felt something”, Dončić he told reporters. “So I’m just trying to warm up… We’ll see tomorrow when I wake up.”

Doncic also confirmed that the injury was in the inner part of the thigh/groin.

“Yeah, it’s in there somewhere.”

The Lakers are now just 4-6 in their last 10 games. LA is fifth in the Western Conference at 23-14. The team isn’t playing its best basketball right now, but there’s reason to believe it can get back on track.

Doncic continued to play at a high level. The 26-year-old guard leads the league with an average of 33.6 points per game. He also gets the job done in other aspects of the game, as evidenced by his averages of 8.7 assists, 8.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals.

However, Luka is shooting just 32 percent from behind the arc. However, he is finding the bottom of the net at a 46.5 percent rate from the field. Dončić enters the conversation about MVP one more time.

As for the Lakers, they will look to get back into the win column on Tuesday night in the second game of a back-to-back against the Atlanta Hawks. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 PM EST in Los Angeles.
