Devin Booker lands awkwardly on his leg after a blocked shot against the Heat

The The Phoenix Suns were bold throughout the year, but they faced a very similar team on Tuesday night at the Miami Heat. As a result, they had an uphill battle all night, and were able to rally from a double-digit deficit to eventually fall 127-121. The Suns have had to endure some nervous moments, including injury scares Devin Booker head to the locker room after a bumpy landing.

With just over a minute left in the third quarter, the Suns found themselves on defense in half-transition after a missed shot by Dillon Brooks. Booker was among the first guys back on the Phoenix defense, eventually disrupting Tyler Hero’s lob attempt on Pele Larson. However, the Suns star, after deflecting a turnover ball, landed awkwardly on his left ankle and had to limp towards the dressing room.

The good news, of course, is that Booker eventually made his way back into the contest, ultimately closing out the game for the Suns with a loss. But this play could have ended a lot worse, and they have to thank their lucky stars that Booker didn’t suffer a more serious injury.

The Suns have been one of the league’s most pleasant surprises this season; despite trading Kevin Durant, they are in the Western Conference playoff picture thanks to their disruptive defense and excellent shooting from beyond the arc.

But the Phoenix has been punching above its weight all season, and reinforcements are needed to further stabilize this sailboat. Jalen Green, the main piece they got from the Durant trade, is will be back in action soonand he should provide an even bigger spark for this team moving forward.
