Jabari Smith Jr. awkward but clutch
The year 2026 did not smile Jabari Smith Jr until now. In his team’s three-game losing streak, Houston’s power wing he was in a lot of pain with his outside shooting, shooting a very poor 12/47 (only 25% success) including an abysmal 1/20 from behind the 3-point line! Against the Bulls, during almost the entire meeting, he failed to reverse the trend.

“I felt guilty about the loss. I had a feeling that if I improved a bit, we would win matches.”, he notes. “It was hard for me to shoot, but I had to keep shooting, to believe it would work. The wheel was going to spin so it was good to see the bullets falling into it.”
Rewarded for his perseverance
With Chicago still up by one point, Jabari Smith Jr. finds the target on a 3-pointer for the first time. A minute later he scored a goal from the middle, and 25 seconds later he scored again from behind the arc. Eight points in 100 seconds, which allowed Houston to win and end their black streak.
The player’s analysis was therefore good: with more skill on his part, his team would have won. “It was important,” affirms the Name of Udoka. “It’s good to see him keep his confidence, stay aggressive, shoot and not pass. He was rewarded.”
The interior finishes this success with 18 points on 6/13 shooting and 7 rebounds. Even if his 2/7 on 3-pointers still isn’t brilliant, maybe this good sequence at the end of a tight matchup will revive him.
