LeBron James on Rich Paul’s Austin Reeves-Jaren Jackson Jr. trade idea

The age of sports podcasts has brought some strange scenarios never before seen in the NBA. Example: the latest drama with a famous agent Rich Paul. Pavla, who represents Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, advocated on his podcast for the team to trade Austin Reeves for Jaren Jackson Jr. The comments caused another awkward situation in Los Angeles given Paul’s close relationship with James.
Days after that controversial podcast clip went viral, James spoke out on the issue. The Lakers play first fenced off from Paul’s commentssaying his agent’s comments were not indicative of how he felt.
“I think you all know by now that Rich is his own man and what Rich says is not a direct reflection of me and how I feel,” James told ESPN. “And I hope people know that. I hope people know that, and if they’re not smart enough to know that, then I don’t know what to tell them.”
James also emphasized that his bond with Reaves is as strong as ever. The Lakers star said he hopes Reaves doesn’t take Paul’s comments personally.
“AR knows how I feel about him,” James told ESPN. “All you have to do is look at us on the bench. Me and AR talk every day. So AR knows how I feel about him and I hope AR — or his camp — doesn’t look at me and think these are my words coming through Rich.
This isn’t the first time Paul’s comments on his podcast have caused a stir in the Lakers camp. Earlier in the season, Paul caught a lot of flak after saying on his podcast that the Lakers were not “championship contenders” following their NBA Cup loss.
The Lakers are currently fifth in the Western Conference with a record of 24-14. They are coming off a 141-116 win over the Atlanta Hawkswith James scoring 31 points on 12-of-20 shooting and adding ten assists and nine rebounds.
