Tirese Halliburton’s mic drop on injury rehab will have fans dreaming of another finals run

The Indiana Pacers they have a huge, apparent void. It’s an absence Tyrese Halliburton because of ACL injury sustained during Game 7 2025 NBA Finals
As a result, he has missed the entire season while rehabilitating. However, Halliburton recently offered some insight into his recovery, giving Pacers fans a glimmer of hope, according to The Athletic’s Shakeia Taylor.
“There are days when the weather seems to fly,” Halliburton said. “And there are days where it doesn’t seem like they can go any slower. I go through ebbs and flows, but I feel really good. It’s been good to be away for a little bit, but I’m progressing really well. I’m really excited about my progress.”
It was Haliburton who rose to the occasion for the Pacers that carried them to the finals. His 90.9% clutch was unheard of and endeared him to Indiana fans. Although the Pacers lost to the OKC Thunder in the NBA Finals, Haliburton won so many hearts.
As his recovery continues, he said the organization is making progress.
“I think our whole organization is excited about my progress and sometimes when I’m on the field the coaches will come out and watch me practice, or the front office guys will watch me practice. I think people are excited to see the progress I’m making, and that excites me because I’ve really attacked this really hard, and I don’t work this hard for no reason.”
Tyrese Haliburton is hitting the road in stride
Certainly, the eventual return of Haliburton will plant the seeds in the minds of fans to expect an immediate return to the finals. However, Halliburton itself admits that it doesn’t work that way.
“I just have to understand — obviously ours is a little more dramatic — but there were a lot of people who lost at that stage (of the NBA Finals) and they had to work to get back there,” he said. “And sometimes you don’t get back there. It just works. I understand how hard I’m going to have to work to get back there, and I plan on that.”
“So I’m excited about the journey it’s going to take to get back there, and I think that’s going to make me feel even better. That’s what I’m thinking about more than anything.”
This season, the Pacers are 9-31 without Halliburton.
