Billy Donovan provides critical information on Josh Giddy’s recovery



There is a glimmer of hope for Chicago Bulls as it relates to Josh Giddei. Giddei is currently out with a hamstring injury.

On Wednesday, the head coach Billy Donovan shared a status report on Giddy’s recovery before the game against the Utah Jazz, according to Drew Stevens of Biggs Media. In essence, Donovan said Giddei has progressed “really, really well.” As a result, he has is cleared to speed up your recovery.

All told, Donovan said it will take at least a week to see where Giddy is. The Bulls are 18-21 and lost to the Houston Rockets 119-113 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Giddy has played in 30 games and is averaging 19.2 points, 9.0 assists and 8.9 rebounds per game. Additionally, Giddei is struggling in his first postseason signing a four-year, $100 million contract over the summer. Because of that, establishing him as a player the Bulls want to build around for the future.

This year, Giddei showed up and showed. He has seven triple-doubles and now has a total of 25 in his career.

On December 28, Giddei injured his hamstring in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He finished the game with 18 minutes of play and 11 points. Since then, Giddy has missed nine games.

Injuries took their toll in Chicago throughout the season. Kobe White, who struggled with leaf problemshe was cleared to play Wednesday against the Jazz. Julian Phillips is out with a sprained right ankle and Zach Collins remains out with a toe injury.
