The Raptors could be an intriguing trade destination for Jaren Jackson Jr. in the offseason

Doc Memphis Grizzlies Running back Ja Morant has been the subject of trade rumors this season, Jaren Jackson Jr. could follow suit in the offseason, when he Toronto Raptors would be in a position to make a move. The boss of this season’s trade deadline, Jackson Jr. was in the Grizzlies’ trade proposals for those expecting drastic changes in Memphis this season.

If the Grizzlies go that way, the Raptors do an intriguing option in a potential offseason trade for Jackson Jr., per Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, he said, per Clutch Scoops.

“This is a team that could wait until the offseason to make their big move — maybe make some small-margin moves around the trade deadline. They get under tax. They address their frontcourt,” Siegel said. “But one player I would keep an eye on in the offseason is Jaren Jackson Jr., and the reason I bring it up is that the Memphis Grizzlies have made it clear that if they move on from Ja Morant, it will be to surround Jackson with young players and have him be the focus of their rebuild.”

“So, does that interest Jackson? Does he want to be part of a rebuild or does he want to be part of a team that wants to contend now, and how will the implications of the Ja trade affect Jaren Jackson’s market in the offseason?”

If Jackson Jr. is the subject of trade rumors this upcoming offseason, expect the Raptors to be in the mix.

The Celtics are reportedly interested in Jaren Jackson Jr. from the Grizzlies.

The The Celtics had the Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. in mind. for a while, according to one report, the All-Star forward is expected to be the franchise player of the future if or when his team moves on from Ja Morant. But is that what Jackson Jr. wants as the Grizzlies head toward a full rebuild?

Perhaps the chance to compete alongside All-Stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum — once he returns — and the Celtics prompt Jackson Jr. to want to move on from the Grizzlies. Anyway, Celtics were interested in Jackson Jr. for a while, according to Matt Moore of Hardwood Parochism.

“Something has been whispered in the wind for a long time from multiple league sources: The Boston Celtics would love to add Jaren Jackson Jr.,” reports Moore. “There’s no team I’ve heard of with more interest in Jackson. The problem, of course, is what the deal looks like.”

It will be interesting to see how things play out for the Grizzlies.
