Mike Macdonald provides a key update on Zach Charbonnet’s knee

The Seattle Seahawks‘ dominant 41–6 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday came with a noticeable star in the background. Running back Zach Charbonnet left the game in the second quarter with a knee injury, but the head coach Mike Macdonald provided a glimmer of hope 12s after the final whistle.

The injury occurred midway through the second frame after Charbonnet hit hard on a 3-and-2 rush. After a brief examination in the blue medical tent, the sophomore went to the locker room in his tracksuits and did not return.

Before he exited, Charbonnet looked sharp, recording five carries for 20 yards and a 15-yard burst that helped set the tone for Seattle’s physical offensive approach.

While any knee injury in January is cause for concern, Mike McDonald shared early optimism on Sunday. According to Adam Schefter, the Seahawks believe Charbonnet’s knee is structurally intactalthough he will undergo an MRI to confirm the extent of the damage.
