Sean McDermott is a candidate for head coach of the Ravens, Titans
While it is The Baltimore Ravens have scheduled a second interview with Anthony Weaverthe Titans kick the tires couple of coordinators. But according to NFL rumors, the former Bills coach Sean McDermott is seen as a candidate for the Ravens and Titans.
It does reasonable fitaccording to a post on X by the Rich Eisen Show.
“Where could Sean McDermott potentially land next?” Tom Pelissero said. “Baltimore is certainly one that I could see making a lot of sense for Sean McDermott. The other would be Tennessee.
“We know the Titans were chasing John Harbaugh. They wanted to talk to Kevin Stefanski before he took over in Atlanta. Given the aggressiveness of Tennessee, they have a quarterback. Great place to live. Opening a new stadium. There are aspects of that deal I’d say I don’t count because of Sean McDermott.”
Where would Sean McDermott likely escape?
Because of his past success, McDermott probably wouldn’t take on the rebuilding process.
“It doesn’t make a lot of sense for him to go into a full rebuild. He’s 51 years old. He’s been there every year, he’s been in the playoffs every season here the last few years.”
That probably rules out the Raiders and Cardinals, Pelissero said.
One thing that seems certain is that McDermott will land somewhere. Even though he’s not over the hump, there seems to be a belief in NFL circles that he could get there.
Still, McDermott performed Buffalo because he fell too many times, according to ESPN.
“He didn’t finish the job,” wrote Alaina Getzenberg. “In the results business, McDermott has been incredibly successful, winning 10 or more games in seven consecutive seasons, the longest active streak in the NFL. The Bills are one of six teams in the Super Bowl era to have such a streak.
“The firing comes down to what McDermott didn’t do, but perhaps more importantly, (owner Terry) Pegula’s clear decision to adhere to (general manager) Brandon Beane’s vision for the team moving forward. And the general manager won in winning the owners’ faith in building a vision for the future.”
However, the problem with Beane is that he didn’t get a good enough weapon to handle Josh Allen. Beane stood by his decision to enter this season with a receiver room looking weak. And then it played poorly. By all rights, Bean should have been out first.
