Charles Barkley thinks the league is afraid the world will hit the US in the ASG

With a basketball legend Charles Barkley talks about the NBA As part of his job, he recently came up with an idea for what the league should do as part of the All-Star Game. Hall of Fame in Barkley argued that it should be an element of the event where international players face off against those from the United States of America.

However, there is a specific reason why the association will not do this.

Barkley was on the Dan LeBatard show, saying that commissioner Adam Silver “made a huge mistake” with the All-Star Game, saying that Silver would not make the “World vs. USA” idea come true, as the international players would “kick us in the ass.”

“Well, let me say this. I think Adam Silver, who I love and respect, made a huge mistake,” Barkley said. “Listen, man. Stop messing with the All-Star game. Make it international vs. USA… I’ve been saying for 10 years that—international team vs. USA team would be the perfect scenario. The reason they don’t want to do it is because our international team is going to shoot the whore**.”

“I mean, probably the best four, five players in the NBA today are international players, but it would be great,” Barkley continued. “We don’t have to win. It’s like the Olympics. I don’t think it will be the worst thing in the world if the United States doesn’t win. I think it will be a boom if another country wins.”

As Barkey is the lead voice on Inside the NBA for ESPNhis thoughts on the subject are no doubt interesting, as he points out that international players are putting their stamp on the game.

Barclay has talked about that idea beforeexpressing this last May, for the world team to hit the USA in the back, with the likes of Nikola Jokic, Victor Wembanyama, Shai Giljid-Alexander and Luka Doncic at the helm.

“I’ve been saying that for five to seven years. I think an international match against the United States would be fantastic,” Barkley said. “And I’ll tell you the truth, and I’ll be honest with you — I think the only reason they don’t want to do it is: They were afraid the United States would get a beat.”

It remains to be seen whether Barkley’s idea will come to fruition.
