Jamal Murray played through a hamstring strain in the Wizards’ win
The Denver Nuggets they were one of the most injured teams this year in the league. They are currently without three starters — Nikola Jokic, Cam Johnson and Christian Brown — due to injuries, and the likes of Aaron Gordon and Jonas Valanciunas have also missed significant time this season due to knocks of their own. But the Nuggets found a way to survive and beat the Washington Wizards 107-97 on Thursday night thanks to Peyton Watson night with 35 points and continuous, enduring excellence Jamal Murray.
Murray has been one of the best players in the league all season, and he definitely deserves an All-Star nod. On Thursday, Murray took a bit of a seat over Watson, but still scored 24 points on 9-17 shooting from the field. And perhaps the most astonishing thing of all is that the Nuggets star continued to be so productive despite dealing with little concern for injuries his own.
“He stretched out, he was ready to go, and then he came out (and) he was a little tight. Jamal has, like, what do you say. An ankle. A knee,” Nuggets head coach David Adelman said, per Bennett Durando of the Denver Post.
Nuggets star Jamal Murray is headed to the All-Star Game

Murray missed a few games here and there, but The Nuggets know how incredible it is he was all season. And Denver’s head coach gave his star quarterback his flowersbecause it would be a travesty if he doesn’t make it to the All-Star Game in less than a month.
“He plays through a lot. He does it for his team. And one of the main, main reasons he’s going to be an All-Star in my opinion is because he’s helped get this team through this moment and this season. … On a night where he’s not moving great, he’s going 24, 5 and 4,” Adelman added.
