Wolves have fallen into a new crisis

“Right now we don’t have a defensive identity.” This is how Chris Finch sums up the bad luck of his Wolves, who last night recorded their 4th defeat in a row. Just like last season, Rudy Gobert’s teammates continue to struggle to be consistent in their efforts, and tonight, they lost at home to the Bulls who wanted more.
“Our inability to contain penetrations is hurting us a lot at the moment” explains the Minnesota coach. “And there’s also a lack of discipline in one-on-one situations. We’re helping too much in certain places where we shouldn’t be, and we’re not ready enough to contain the next penetration. We need to get back to defending!”
And to make matters worse, when they defended well in certain sequences, the Wolves spoiled everything with an unnecessary foul at the end of the possession… For Anthony Edwards, everything starts with him and therefore he is to blame for everything.
“The coach is right” does he react to this loss of identity. “Honestly, if I play even 50 percent of my level tonight, we win the game. I don’t blame anyone but myself. I just have to play better in a game like this. You just have to play more physical and not get knocked out one-on-one. The most important thing is to keep the ball carrier.”
Author of 30 points while very uncertain, Julius Randle “prefer to keep your comments to yourself”but he believes that he and his teammates “don’t follow the game plan and don’t pay attention to the details”.
“It is clear that the energy is disappearing” he emphasizes. “But that’s our responsibility. The season is long, with ups and downs. A week ago we could look like the best team in the league, and today like the worst. We have to find consistency, get our heads, energy and concentration in order. Otherwise, it will continue to hurt us. We have to play intensely for 48 minutes without taking our foot off the gas.”
