Alperen Sengun shocked Detroit fans with a poster of Isaiah Stewart


Alperen Sengun to put Isaiah Stewart on the big poster during Houston Rockets match against Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Sengun is in his fifth career season with the Rockets, continuing his rise as one of the league’s best centers. His outstanding scoring and playmaking abilities have allowed Houston to emerge as one of the most competitive teams in the Western Conference.

Sengun put his offensive skills on full display during Houston’s contest against Detroit, currently the best team in the Eastern Conference. The highlight came in the early minutes of the fourth quarter, when the Stars’ center drove into the paint and leaped into the air while hit a one-handed dunk over Stewart, stunning the opposing crowd in the process.

It was a great highlight for Alperen Sengun against Isaiah Stewart, helping the Rockets stun the Pistons on the road.

Both teams were initially tied during the first half with 52 points each. Houston took control 34-20 in the third quarter, holding the lead for the rest of the night.

Five players scored in double figures in Houston’s win, including Sengun. He finished with 18 points, five assists, two steals and one rebound. He shot 6-of-11 from the field and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. The team was led by Kevin Durant with 30 points and six rebounds, it was Reed Shepard’s turn with 18 points, while Amen Thompson had 15 points and nine rebounds. Meanwhile, Jabari Smith Jr. had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Houston improved to a 27-16 record on the season, holding fourth place in the Western Conference standings. They are one game ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns. However, they trail the Denver Nuggets by two games and the San Antonio Spurs by three games.

The Rockets will look forward to the next two matches, because they are at home. They host the Memphis Grizzlies on January 26th at 8:00pm ET and the Spurs on January 28th at 9:30pm ET.
