Clippers correct Nets: +37

This week, the Nets begin a five-game trip to the West by traveling to Los Angeles to challenge the Clippers. If Michael Porter Jr opened the scoring, Tyronn Lue’s men quickly took control of this match thanks to Ivica Zubac (11 points, 10 rebounds). The Croatian starts the game with a 3/3 shot (12-5).
Conversely, the Nets are struggling against the Clippers’ defense. Brooklyn ends this first quarter shooting 4/19 as Los Angeles builds. James Harden (19 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists) scored 14 points in 12 minutes including three long shots (38-14).
In the second quarter, it was Kawhi Leonard (28 points, 5 rebounds) who is credited with pushing the Nets a little further. After a mistake Terrance Mann on a long shot, the winger made three free throws and followed it up with two game-winning baskets that already gave the Clippers a more than 30-point lead (47-14).
For its part, Brooklyn doesn’t score anything like this missed basket Danny Wolf (14 points, 7 rebounds), alone under the racket after an offensive rebound. If Zaire Williams etc Dai’Ron Sharpe both score 2+1, Kobe Sanders responds with a mid-range shot at the buzzer (68-37).
After the break, the Nets came back under the 30-point mark, but the team coached by Jordi Fernandez did not further erase its deficit and again trailed by 30 lengths before the start of the fourth quarter (96-66). This last act is an opportunity to Nicholas Batum (3 points, 3 rebounds) to score his only basket of the game.
The Clippers thus won 126-89 and achieved their eighth success in ten games. The Nets suffered their fifth straight loss before traveling to Phoenix on Tuesday.
WHAT TO REMEMBER:
Another beating for the Nets. That Brooklyn stood up to Boston with a double overtime lossThe Nets suffered, just before a loss of 54 points against the Knicks. The punishment was almost as severe against the Clippers as Michael Porter Jr.’s teammates were trailed by more than 30 points early in the second quarter. The gap widened slightly in the second half, and the Nets trailed by 37 points at the final whistle.
Terrence Mann celebrated at the Intuit Dome. Transferred to Atlanta last February, Terrance Mann landed in Brooklyn during the summer.
