Allen Iverson caused backlash for alleged behavior in Australia



NBA legend Allen Iverson is in hot water after a complaint from an attendee at his recent event in Australia.

As Fox Sports reported, citing a post on Reddit, Iverson was scheduled to meet with 12 children battling cancer at a popular car dealership in Melbourne. It was co-organized by a non-profit organization.

“Families were allegedly promised autographed basketballs, jerseys and a chance to ask questions – none of that came,” the report added.

It was the latest release on Iverson’s visit to Australia. On Friday, he canceled an invitation to speak at the last minute, leaving guests waiting for more than two hours in vain.

“There were some great sponsors involved, people flying in from Sydney and coming from all over. Just one problem: Iverson didn’t show up,” said former NBA player Chris Anstey, who lives in Australia, according to the report.

Iverson has a history of questionable behavior, even during his NBA playing days. He was branded as lazy, stubborn and arrogant, and was known for skipping practice.

however, Iverson was widely regarded as a great player and a game changer that shaped the culture of the league. He led the Philadelphia 76ers to the 2001 NBA Finals.

As of this writing, Iverson has yet to comment on his trip to Australia.
