Jake LaRavia laughs at Jackson Hayes’ dunk in Eastbay

On Monday night, The Los Angeles Lakers picked themselves up impressive road win over the Chicago Bulls, moving their record to 28-17 in the process. The story of the game was Luka Dončićwho scored 46 points in this one, taking over in the second half after LeBron James dropped 20 in the first half.

However, the biggest highlight of the night belonged to the Lakers’ big man Jackson Hayeswho put the ball between his legs on a classic Eastbay dunk, electrifying the United Center crowd in the process.

After the game, however, his Lakers teammate Jake LaRavia did not he seems particularly impressed feat.

“It didn’t go up that much, but it was okay,” LaRavia joked, according to Oh No, Not on X, formerly Twitter.

Hayes’ dunk was an example of the athleticism that has long captivated NBA scouts since his time in Texas and led to him becoming a lottery pick in the NBA draft once upon a time. While his career in the league hasn’t quite gone as he’d hoped so far, he’s still managed to secure a role for himself on a Lakers team that’s holding strong in the Western Conference playoffs at this point in the season.

As previously mentioned, Doncic excelled on Monday in the Windy City, hitting the Bulls with a barrage of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and keeping them within reach. It will be fascinating to see how Rob Pelinka and company decide to approach the upcoming NBA trade deadline, with the team still clearly in need of at least one more solid perimeter defender to plug into the playoff rotation.

Either way, the Lakers will next take the floor on Wednesday night for a road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:00 PM ET.
