Tyrese McKay reveals he made a transition lob on Joel Embiid

Tyrese McKay immediately hugged Joel Embiid after connecting for an alley-oop slam in the second quarter on Tuesday. It made it longer Philadelphia 76ers‘ lead in front of the Milwaukee Bucks at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The fans exploded after that McKay threw a perfect lob to Embiidwho then emphatically hammered it home.

The 31-year-old Embiid was pleasantly surprised to still be able to catch a lob despite his knee injuries. Maxey said he hasn’t seen that since his sophomore year in the NBA. He also said that he manifested the play.

“I told him before the game I was going to throw him a lob. That was cool,” Maxey said in a halftime interview.

The 76ers had a nine-point lead at the break, 71-62.

Embiid returned to action after sitting out Monday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center. The Sixers lost 130-93. Philadelphia said before the season that Embiid would not play back-to-back games to preserve his career.

The former MVP has been hampered by various injuries since entering the NBA in 2014. He has played just 58 games in the last two seasons.

Embiid has adjusted his gameincluding improving his outside shot to better handle the physical rigors of the NBA.
