While Rivers admits there is “no excuse” for his dismal rebounding woes
With Giannis Antetokounmpo has scheduled a multi-week absencethe Milwaukee Bucks they have to play with redoubled effort and intensity if they are to at least tread water while waiting for their best player to return. But it looks like the Bucks didn’t get the memo. The Philadelphia 76ers outplayed them on Tuesday night, falling 139-122 after the 76ers caught fire from beyond the arc and never looked back.
To make up the ground they lost in the three-point battle, they must at least take care of the ball and control the glass. They did neither. The Bucks turned the ball over five more times than the 76ers (11-6), and Phillia outplayed them on the boards, pulling down 46 total rebounds compared to 38 for Milwaukee. The 76ers collected 15 offensive boards and it’s hard to give a second chance to a team that has been scoring at will.
After the game, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers expressed his frustration regarding his team’s deficiencies on the glass.
“We’ve got to get better. We started with size. No excuses for offensive rebounds, okay? Now I have to watch film and see why. I felt like we leaked a lot, trying to get out on the break, because we talked a lot about the run, but I didn’t see it, so I don’t want to talk about it yet,” Eric Neletic told The Rivers.
The Bucks’ frontcourt without Giannis Antetokounmpo can’t control the glass

The Bucks started Myles Turner, Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma togetherand yet they were still outplayed on the glass by a smaller 76ers team that started Kelly Oubre Jr. Milwaukee’s options behind those three don’t inspire much confidence, so perhaps staggering minutes would progress better.
In particular, Jericho Sims’ minutes were a disaster. Sims was lost, throwing the ball away with bad passes. And the Bucks lost ground every time he was on the field.
