Lakers linked to DeAndre Hunter trade as Cavs ramp up talks

Trade rumors have begun to rise as the deadline approaches, with many teams looking to add and subtract from their squads. The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the teams looking to take a pay cut, and De’Andre Hunterthe name appeared. As for Los Angeles Lakers, looking to add piecesand Hunter is in at the top of their list as a trade target, according to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points.
“The Cavs want back the value they sent to get Hunter from the Hawks,” Siegel told Clutch Scoops. “It doesn’t look like he’s going to get it, and since then we’ve heard directly from sources that the Cavaliers are actively discussing a trade involving Hunter, and he’s likely to be on the move next week. One of the teams we keep hearing about De’Andre Hunter, and it makes a lot of sense considering they need a three- Los Angeles Lakers.”
Siegel noted that if the Lakers really wanted to make a move for Hunter, it would have to involve several teams, and they would have to move on players like Rui Hachimura, Jared Vanderbilt, or even Gabe Vincent. It seems so The Lakers would be willing to trade Hachimura, according to NBA Insider Jake Fisher.
“The Lakers have shown a willingness to include Rui Hachimura in a trade, sources say, but that was a catalyst in their efforts to buy to bolster their current roster — not to sell. Sources say the Cavaliers, meanwhile, are involved in various talks about De’Andre Hunter, but many teams feel his $20 million cap hit next season is also a negative for the plus. History,” Fisher wrote.
Hunter hasn’t had the best season for the Cavs this season, going from starters to being benched. The Cavs were probably hoping to get the same production they got from him last season, but it hasn’t been consistent this year.
