Chris Finch is speaking out for Anthony Davies following a brutal injury

The Minnesota Timberwolves he visited Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday, looking to gain more momentum after recently snapping their five-game skid.
The Timberwolves beat the Golden State Warriors 108-83 on Monday. Minnesota played without Anthony Edwards, while Golden State was without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.
While Edwards is back in actionDallas is still missing Anthony Davis. The often-overlooked star is out for at least another month with a hand injury.
Timberwolves coach Chris Finch is fully aware that the Mavericks are handicapped without Davis, who played just 20 games this season, averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 blocks.
“Amazing player. One of my favorites,” Finch said, as quoted by NBA Insider Marc Stein.
Stein added: “Finch coached Davis in New Orleans and said he rated AD as the best pick-and-roll guard in the league among bigs until Victor Wembanyama arrived.
Has Finch hinted at trying to acquire the 32-year-old Davis before the trade deadline? Probably not. But a Minnesota reunion could be beneficial for both.
Finch was an assistant coach with the Pelicans from 2017 to 2020, and Davis was the team’s center.
The Mavericks are reportedly shopping around Davisbut his injury history and large contract could be off-putting to some teams. Still, he’s one of the league’s best players when he’s healthy.
As for the Timberwolves, Julius Randle could be on the movealthough Finch has often touted his importance to the team with his versatile skills.
