Jaylon Tyson apologized to LeBron James after a postgame moment

After that Cleveland Cavaliers crushed the Los Angeles Lakers in what could have been LeBron James’ last game at Rocket Arenaone of the young standouts of the night, Jaylon Tyson, felt it Donovan Mitchell he deserved recognition for his leadership. So when the Cleveland guard was asked about the stage and what the King means to the area, the Cavs’ second-year guard chimed in with a viral proclamation.
“Can I say something? This is Donovan Mitchell’s town now,” Tyson told ESPN’s Jorge Sedan in a joint postgame interview. “When he gets back here, we’re going to make sure everybody is rooting for him like they were rooting for (LeBron).”

Tyson was asked about the moment in the press room with Mitchell, and he felt it necessary to explain his reasoning.
“There was no disrespect there,” Tyson said. “I didn’t want to disrespect or step on anybody’s toes. That’s one of the greatest players to ever play the game. Obviously, I was a Cavs fan growing up because of him. I didn’t want to take it away (from) him, but I just wanted to give Don some flowers. That was my biggest goal going into it.
“And if I offended anyone or made anyone angry because of that, I’m sorry. I take personal responsibility, but I just wanted to give the man flowers because we want to do the same thing that Bronn and they did here. We want to do it with him as our leader.”
Right after Tyson’s comments, Mitchell he was grateful for him but he gave his props to lebron.
“At the end of the day, he laid the foundation,” Mitchell told ESPN. “They’ve done a lot for the city, being from here. Obviously, we want to do it again. He deserves the energy he has here. After all, the first title in (52) years. For us, we’re trying to do it, obviously, differently, but we’re trying to find ways to go out there and bring the city another championship.
“But when you have that kind of support from your teammates, it means the world.”
Known for ruffling feathers with his fearlessness, Tyson’s intentions were more to uplift his guy than steal the limelight. He is also one of those who backs up his speech, which has been shown throughout Cavs beat the Lakers on Wednesday.
