Onieka Okongwu shows a graphic picture of a bloody mouth

Atlanta The Hawks found themselves in a physical fight with the Boston Celtics, and Mr. Okongwu caught the short end of the stick, as did Jaylen Brown’s elbow. In the fourth quarter and the Hawks in the lead, Brown was trying to get a shot to help the Celtics close the gap. In the process, his elbow accidentally landed on Okongwu’s mouth, and the Hawks center immediately went down holding his mouth.

Okongwu then got up and immediately went to the dressing room. After some time, the referees decided to review the play, and Brown was assessed a flagrant foul. Okongwu had to go back and shoot free throws and many could see blood on his mouth while he was also missing some of his upper teeth.

Okongwu then returned to the locker room and was ejected from the game. Fortunately, the Hawks still managed to win. After the game, Okongwu shared a picture the way his mouth looks, and it’s not pleasant.

Although he was missing a few teeth, he still seemed happy in the locker room.

Brown also spoke about the incident.

Quinn Snyder knows Okongwu will need something to fix his mouth, and also kept the spirits of his players up with a nice compliment.

“It’s a good thing that dentistry is a profession, I don’t know what he’s going to need, but he’s pretty messed up. He had a good shot. I told him, he’s still handsome, but it’s good that people can fix his teeth,” Snyder said, via Lauren Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Journal.

At this moment, it is uncertain andf Okongwu will miss every timebut that would not be a surprise. The only question is whether he will have to miss extended time or if it will only be a few games.
