Why Jonathan Cuminga left the team during the trip amid rumors

The drama that surrounds Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Cumminga is the gift that keeps on giving.
Or so it seems.
Fans were quick to speculate after it was revealed that Kuminga had left the Warriors’ recently concluded five-game road trip early. Many believed that he went home to pack his things as Kuminga should have been transferred to another team.
Coach Steve Kerrhowever, he clarified that it is he had nothing to do with Kuminga’s trade demand.
“He came home a few days ago to really focus on his rehab, so hopefully he won’t be out too long and he’ll be able to play. But it’s literally one of those things where it’s just day-by-day,” Kerr said in an interview with “Willard & Dibs.”

23-year-old Kuminga nurtures a knee injury he suffered against the Dallas Mavericks January 22. He played well before that, taking advantage of the added minutes in the absence of Jimmy Butler, who will be sidelined for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Kuminga recently issued a trade request after becoming dissatisfied with his minimal role with the Warriors.
Interestingly, Kerr said he wants Cumming to play again soon. When the five-year-old was healthy, Kerr rarely picked him to play. Kuminga appeared in only 20 games this season.
Several teams are reportedly interested in Kuminga. His knee injury, however, led to the situation. Surely the next few days will be extremely crucial for the Warriors.
