Doc Rivers reveals where Milwaukee was ‘broken’ in Wizards loss

Darker days are coming for a Milwaukee Bucks a team on the verge of blowing everything up. Since the team isn’t going anywhere fast, The Bucks are entertaining trade offers for Giannis Antetokounmpo more serious than ever. And amid the huge dark cloud that the Antetokounmpo trade rumors have cast over the franchise, Milwaukee is losing steam on the hardwood, most recently losing to the Washington Wizards on the road, 109-99.

Without Antetokounmpo, the cracks in the Bucks’ foundation are very apparent. They don’t have much in the way of promising young players, and they don’t have the veteran talent to hold down the fort amid Antetokounmpo’s injury absence. And it didn’t help matters that Milwaukee is struggling in general this particular area games they have to win considering they are already shorthanded to begin with.

“Honestly, it was a tough battle. Let’s keep it real. But the 50-50 game, we were broken. Before the game, we literally talked about it. We have to win the rebounding war and we can’t foul the shooters, and tonight, I don’t know how many points – at one point, I think it was 18 shooting points and other fouls, not including fouls.” Doc Rivers Athletic’s Erik Nehm said after the game.

The Bucks are counting down the days until doomsday

Trading Antetokounmpo seems like an admission of defeat for the Bucks. They tried to add to the roster last offseason by adding Myles Turner at the cost of Damian Lillard’s contractbut all of that soured Milwaukee’s long-term prospects.

Now they realize they won’t be able to build a contending roster around Giannis while he’s still in his prime, and trading him is an act of love for the franchise’s greatest player.
