Paul George suspended for 25 matches!
Due to a violation of the NBA anti-doping protocol, Paul George scoop of25 game suspensionwithout salary. His suspension begins tonight against the Pelicans, and the Sixers wing commented on the announcement.
“Over the past few years I have spoken about the importance of mental health, and while recently seeking treatment for a personal problem, I made the mistake of taking the wrong medication. he wrote for ESPN. “I take full responsibility for my actions and apologize to the Sixers organization, my teammates and the Philadelphia fans for my poor decisions that I made during this process. I am now focused on this period to ensure that my mind and body are in the best possible condition to help the team when I return.”
Currently 6th in the Eastern Conference, the Sixers will therefore play 25 of the final 35 games of the regular season without their All-Star wing player. A tough blow even if the return of Joel Embiid at the helm would allow them to maintain a good level and stay at least in the Top 10 in their conference.
Personally, this suspension will cost Paul George more than $11 million.
